Victor Araman

Biography

Professor at the American University of Beirut and Adjunct professor at Stern, New York University,. He was formerly a full-time faculty at the Stern school of Business, NYU. He is still affiliated with NYU as an associate adjunct professor. He was also a visiting professor at INSEAD in 2006-2007 and again in 2016-2017. He received his Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale in France, and his MS and PhD degrees in Operations Research from Stanford University. His current research focuses on dynamic pricing techniques, demand learning and consumer behavior through stochastic modelling. He has been teaching courses on operations management, supply chain management, decision models and pricing and revenue optimization in the full-time MBA, Executive MBA and undergraduate programs. He received the AUB Teaching Excellence Award in 2014. Dr. Araman has an intensive professional experience. He previously worked with Altera Corporation in San Jose, California and McKinsey & Company in Paris. He has consulted and advised many companies on supply chain issues. Recently, he has been involved with and advising few startups: He designed and developed an innovative pricing algorithm for the UK-based, Slidr.com. He is working with a social enterprise in Africa to streamline their business model.
