Teaching and Learning Center

Job Overview: 

The Teaching and Learning Center (TALC) at the South Mediterranean University is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join the team as a Coordinator.

The coordinator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of education and learning on campus by supporting faculty members in adopting new teaching methods, organizing training events, and promoting TALC activities.

Key Responsibilities: 

Event Coordination 

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all operational aspects of training events, public talks, and workshops.
  • Handle logistics, including venue booking, catering, equipment setup, preparing and distributing certificates, and other event-related tasks.
  • Maintain and update event registration, attendance, and feedback forms.

Communication 

  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, to interact with faculty, colleagues, potential trainers, and guest speakers.
  • Write and send emails to inform and invite faculty and potential trainers/guest speakers about upcoming events and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the TALC team to develop content for the TALC SharePoint page, and webpage, and promote its activities on campus.

Educational Support

  • Develop teaching guides for each training event to summarize key points and facilitate knowledge sharing among faculty members.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to understand their specific needs and provide support in implementing new learning methods.
  • Share a monthly newsletter with faculty about new teaching methods, innovations in teaching, upcoming events organized by other institutions in the field of education, digital learning, and learning technology.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and IT systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in event coordination or project management.
  • Knowledge of current trends in education and learning methodologies.
  • Experience in developing content for websites or digital platforms.
