In celebration of the Earth Day 🌍 and IEEE PES Day, SMU Foundation collaborated with the brilliant minds of the IEEE PES SMU Chapter to offer SMU community a meaningful and flavorful experience focused on sustainability, edible flower tasting, and planting at our SMU Green Garden ! 🌱🌺🪻
Participants had the opportunity to plant edible flower seeds in our shared garden and enjoy a fruit salad infused with their unique flavors and vibrant colors.
The event featured an inspiring green entrepreneur Mrs. Sonya Ibidhi, founder of Sonya Flowers.com and winner of the Enda inter-arabe Agribusiness Award, who shared her remarkable journey cultivating edible flowers in Tunisia, particularly in Tabarka.
We also had an informative session with Dr. Soundes Slim, who provided valuable scientific insights into the composition of these incredible flowers, highlighting their nutritional value and vitamin-rich benefits.
