Biography

Yasmine Guefrachi is an Assistant Professor at MedTech, SMU as of Fall 2020. She holds a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, USA. In her current position, she teaches, develops and designs curriculum plans/courses in the discipline areas of chemical engineering, renewable energy engineering and mathematics. In addition, she is a coordinator at SMU Research Center coordinating the partnership between MITACS (nonprofit Canadian organization that supports academic and industrial research and training programs) and MedTech. Her research expertise is in the synthesis, characterization and catalysis of hierarchical zeolites with special interest in thermal and hydrothermal stability investigations of two dimensional zeolites. She has an industrial experience in the chemical and petrochemical industries attained from working as a process engineer in refineries and petrochemical processing plants.
